It is imperative to design an excellent hypothetical platform in any type of research. The importance of such a platform is that it forms a basis for all the stages that the actual research will or ca take. Apparently as was seen in the earlier section of this research, these two methods of research constitute of different tactics. As such the consequent hypothetical designs for the two methods may show some similarities though are different in various aspects. This paper, therefore, seeks to examine the specific hypothetical designs for the quantitative and qualitative methods with respect to the research topic at stake. Statement of the problem

Plan of Research

A sample 475 students will be randomly selected from 25 schools located in Etinan, Nigeria. For reduction of selection bias, the ratio of males to female respondents will be 1:1 while an equal number of participants will be selected from each school. Out of these, 45% will be primary school students while the rest 55% will be high school students. For a student to be selected for this study, heshe has to have a mean grade of less than a D for at least two consecutive terms. Teachers will guide in the selection of participants. Apparently, the entirety of the quantitative research will be done with the questionnaire as the main tool for data collection. Questionnaires with both open-ended and close-ended questionnaires will be used to gather information. On the other hand, the close-ended items will serve to restrict the respondent to some specified nature of answers (Harris, 2005).
